Experimental Electro Ambient w Bert Hornikx
HRNS is an experimental electro-ambient project by Joachim Saerens (keys and electronics) and Bert Hornikx (drums, electronics). We shape organic, layered improvisations where jazz sensibilities meet electronic textures and sound design. On stage, Martijn Pillards’ live projections add a cinematic dimension. Our first album—featuring Robin Verheyen on saxophone—was released on vinyl on 6de Kolonne and is available on all streaming platforms. Press has described HRNS as “poetic, mysterious and adventurous,” with references to the likes of Sun Ra, and a sound that is both industrial and fluid, abstract yet deeply musical.
MITAKUYE OYASIN – first single out now
The first single of our new record TAWAZUN with HRNS, MITAKUYE OYASIN, is officially out now.
It’s a contemplative piece for piano and electronics about connection, inspired by the Lakota phrase often translated as “we are all related”. The track is one of the central chapters of our upcoming record TAWAZUN.
TAWAZUN (توازن) is Arabic for “balance” or “equilibrium” – not as a fixed state, but as a movement between chaos and calm. The album consists of five improvised pieces for piano/Rhodes, electronics and drums, tracing small journeys through solitude, twilight, distraction, connection and wandering.
To give the album a physical form, we’re also launching a Bandcamp pre-order for a limited 10″ vinyl edition of TAWAZUN:
